Palm Lake Elementary is focus of master planning project.
Recently a team of architects and planners began developing a master plan to renovate and improve the Palm Lake Elementary campus. While there may appear to be little work taking place on campus, behind the scenes a number of talented professionals are developing plans to improve the physical plant of the school.
The Central Florida firm of Starmer Ranaldi Planning and Architecture has been selected to produce the master plan. The design team has worked on several projects for Orange County Public Schools, most recently Bay Meadows Elementary and the Colonial High School Ninth Grade Center.
The master plan for this comprehensive renovation project will address the following:
- Replacing modular classrooms with permanent facilities
- Design improvements to increase campus security
- Improvements to traffic and circulation
- Life safety and building system improvements
In April 2008 a community meeting will be held to provide an update on the status of plans to improve the school. Construction is slated to begin in August 2008 as part of the mission to create the Palm Lake Elementary of the future.
