Volunteer Information

Volunteers: There are many opportunities for you to become involved with the Palm Lake students and staff. Your involvement and support are keys to the continued success of our school!

  • Prior to volunteering, you must register on-line as an ADDitions volunteer. Volunteer registration is an on-line process that must be completed each school year. To register, log on to www.palmlake.ocps.net and select the box for on-line volunteer registration. If you anticipate serving as a volunteer in any capacity, it is advisable to register as an ADDitions volunteer as soon as possible.
  • Prior to chaperoning a field trip, you must ALSO register as a field trip chaperone. Field trip chaperone registration is a paper process that must be completed prior to chaperoning a field trip. To register, you can download the paper chaperone application by logging on to www.palmlake.ocps.net and selecting the box to download the paper chaperone application OR you can pick up a form in the Palm Lake office. Return the completed application to your student's teacher or the office. If you anticipate chaperoning a field trip this year, it is advisable to register as an ADDitions chaperone as soon as possible.
  • Log your hours! Log your at-school volunteer hours on the ADDitions computer in the school office. Log your away-from-school volunteer hours on a Volunteer Hour Log Form, found at the ADDitions computer desk. Remember to include ALL volunteer time and activities you provide for Palm Lake (picking up items, phoning, planning, chaperoning, meetings, etc.). Volunteer hours are an important factor in determining school grants and awards as well as individual volunteer recognition.
  • When volunteering at school or chaperoning a field trip, you must print an ADDitions nametag when you log in and wear it while volunteering or chaperoning. To print a nametag, click on the "Print Label/Nametag" option when it appears. Don't forget to "x" out of the printing process to complete your log in.
