DISCOVER OUR MEDIA CENTER

Our Media Center is a very busy place, as students gather to hear wonderful literature, read with groups, or just browse the collection. This vibrant center reflects the life of the classrooms as projects and learning are displayed. 

Experience the adventure of this learning center when the doors open to the picket fence lined with seasonal squashes and pumpkins. Immediately you confront a hands-on learning table reflecting books, artifacts, and media representing classroom topics. The work can be poetry, fiction or nonfiction.

The Parents Resource Center is located on the right hand side of the media center once you pass through the entry door. The Resource Center contains books for parents to check out and use at home. The center also contains books, tapes and videos that cover a wide range of parenting issues from discipline and teaching children respect and responsibility to parents helping their children with reading and math.

The Newbery Medal is awarded annually to the author of themost distinguished contribution to American literature for children, published in the United States during the previous year.

The Caldecott Medal is awarded annually to the illustrator of the most distinguished American picture book for children, published in the United States during the previous year.
