Here we are settling into the second semester of the school year! How exciting it is to see the children grow and learn. This time of year we work hard to be a light hearted happy school family even though the seriousness of testing time approaches.

As much as we talk about our state mandated tests, we really value a well rounded curriculum which includes art, music, technology and physical development as well as academics. Confidence grows through involvement in a variety of activities allowing children to feel valued for their talents in all areas. We strive to develop a positive class and school climate through team building activities and celebration of the accomplishments of others.

As we prepare our older children for the tests coming soon, we thank those of you who heeded our advice and put off travel plans until after this key learning period. Please help us as much as possible at home by maintaining a routine of steady attendance, attention to homework and healthy eating habits. Keep in touch with our teachers when you need help assisting with academics. Help your children maintain a positive attitude about the tests. Even some of our best students are extremely nervous about their performance and need to see how confident you are in them. Confidence and tenacity make all the difference in school success and in life!
